Meanwhile, back at the Castle...

Downtown Cape Town

An elderly blind musician strums his guitar;
when someone put money in his nailed-down box atop the crate,
a boy ran over to see if he could steal it.
However there were ladies nearby who kept watch, and shrilly rebuked the unsuccessful, pint-sized thief.

The Castle moat; we planned to meet up with the GCC group for a guided tour.

But after half an hour, we gave up and left on a carriage tour of the uptown.

A lovely rose in the Company's Gardens

Little children dancing for tourists.
 So many little ones in South Africa who need to be trained to know and serve the Lord.

Look, another carriage! Oh, no, that's us, mirrored in the glass of a huge building.

Apparently some just told a hilarious joke back at the Castle; this stone lion can hardly hold in his mirth.

Parapets await exxploration.

A Muslim group learning the fine art of lighting a canon.

Whoa! What a boom! Guess why the picture is blurred--yep, I jumped a foot off the ground.

Finally we caught up with the group and had a couple of hours of lectures with them.
